AST Gumball Runner Up June 2021
We wanted to thank you for a fun, tremendously successful spring clinic. We received a lot of positive feedback, both in person and through the recent survey, and it has encouraged us to keep going this summer.
We would love to offer more clinics for your girls this summer and keep the momentum going.
In order to provide more softball, though, we need more help from the CVGSL community. Please consider joining the CVGSL Board.
We need more parent volunteers to fill out the CVGSL Board, and the circumstances are dire. The Board has been a skeleton crew for the last several years, with board members wearing multiple hats, and we simply need more help.
CVGSL has been a volunteer-led organization for 50 years, and its mission has been to provide safe, fun outlet for the girls in our close-knit community. The Board is what keeps this machine humming, planning and executing all of the CVGSL-sponsored activities. Without an active board, we’d be unable to provide the girls in our community the opportunity to play softball in their home town.
Our Board currently includes four parents whose kids graduated from the organization a long time ago. While we’ve appreciated their contributions to the league, it’s time for them to step back from the board and pass the torch.
In addition to these four retiring board members, we also have several other open positions. We’ve had these open positions for quite a while, and the solution has been for one board member to do two or three (or four or …) jobs. This simply isn’t sustainable.
We need six to eight new board members ASAP to keep Castro Valley Girls Softball League going.
The worst-case scenario is that the league shuts down, and any Castro Valley kids interested in rec softball will have to travel to a neighboring city.
The best-case scenario is that we limit the number of kids who participate, shutting down registrations after reaching a certain number, which would deny some families the opportunity to play softball in their community.
Please reach out for more information if you’re interested. With enough board members, the time commitment would be manageable for everyone, even for the busiest of schedules. Contact email@example.com.
It takes a village. Please help us help the kids in our community, and join the CVGSL Board if you’re able.
Please read these two documents. :)
