About CV Synergy

ABOUT US:

CV Synergy was established in 1995 and is the only travel program endorsed and supported by Castro Valley Girls Softball League (CVSGL).  CVGSL is a non-profit organization providing girls between the ages of 5-18 the opportunity to participate in recreational softball and competitive travel team program at the ASA Junior Olympic “A” and “B” levels.  Over the past 13 years, CV Synergy travel program has produced numerous teams within the ASA Junior Olympic “A” and “B” divisions and has successfully competed at ASA National tournaments.  Additionally, we are extremely proud that some of our CV Synergy players have received college scholarships to play softball at Divisions I, II, III  and NAIA.

OUR HISTORY AND PHILOSOPHY:

When Sam Marra, as a founder of CVGSL’s travel team program introduced Synergy as its program name, the softball community asked what “Synergy” meant.  Sam’s response to the multitude of inquiries was to look it up in the dictionary.  In fact, when Sam had Synergy  caps produced he added to back of the caps “Look It Up”.  Synergy means “working together” as one team and continues to be the primary philosophy of the Synergy program.

CV Synergy is recognized as an established program within the travel team community through its participation in local, state, and national tournaments for ASA Junior Olympic “A” and “B” divisions.  The CV Synergy program emphasizes great sportsmanship and represents their hometown of Castro Valley with dignity and pride, regardless of winning or losing a game.

COACHING STAFF:

The coaching staffs of the CV Synergy Program represents many years of coaching experience and are primarily VOLUNTEERS who do not receive any compensation from any players, the CVGSL or any third party entities. Team expenses incurred during the season, such as tournament fees, team equipment, etc. will be divided by the number of team players.  Each CV Synergy team maintains segregated bank account which is managed and controlled by the Treasurer of CVGSL.  Costs associated with individual uniforms and player equipment is the responsibility of each player.
